MORALE AT AN ALL-TIME LOW or An Easy Fix

The manager of a high-performing recruiting team wanted to “do something special” for her team. Given budget cuts, many perks had been taken away and morale was low. The team was dispersed across the US and Canada and rarely got to work together in person any more. I administered the MBTI┬« to all team members and after verifying everyone’s type and determining the overall team type, I met with the entire team via videoconference.

A key finding was that the team members, all of whom were Extraverts, missed having regular in-person contact with each other. This was a big loss for them as they really enjoyed one another’s company. They decided to schedule weekly half-hour casual videoconferences to socialize and catch-up with each other.
